The next Revegetation Field Day will be on Sunday 18 October, 10am-4:30pm at Bungonia Hall.
RSVP to Richard STone – 0427 456 718, or email email@example.com
The session will be of interest to anyone wanting to plant trees and shrubs, and past participants interests have ranged from planting trees in rented yards, to revegetating large rural properties. Richard will share insights from more than two decades of revegetation work, tailored to the issues raised by the people there.
Two guide books will be distributed. One is a classic local text on Revegetation for Braidwoodby Mary Appleby, Judy Knowles and Rebecca Bradley among others. This is a useful guide to selecting and identifying appropriate native trees and shrubs. A comprehensive set of Revegetation workshop notes will also be distributed, giving reasons for revegetation, advice on farm planning, information about windbreaks and techniques for revegetation. It focuses on three options for regeneration – natural, tubestock planting and direct seeding.
The Field Day will also showcase revegetation equipment available for hire from Upper Shoalhaven Landcare Council. This includes a tractor mounted ripper, mounder, tree planter as well as several hand tools.
The guides and equipment are available through the Upper Shoalhaven Landcare Council, located at the South East Local Land Services Braidwood Office at 42 Ryrie Street, or by phoning Su Wild-River on 48422594. Emailupper.firstname.lastname@example.org.
